Choose a Bubbler by Size, Price and How Much Glasswork You Actually Want

When I compare bubblers, I do not start by asking which one has the longest feature list. I start with three simpler questions — how small do you want it, how much do you want to spend, and do you want a simple chamber or extra internal glass such as a perc?

SmokingCats currently carries bubblers from tiny 2.5-inch pieces to larger 6-to-7-inch hammer, upright and double-perc designs. That range matters because a $13 mini bubbler and an $80 branded bubbler may both fit in one hand, but they are not solving the same shopping problem.

Mini, Hammer or Upright Bubbler

If the smallest possible size is the priority, start with the 2.5-inch Martian Mini Glass Bubbler. It is currently $12.99 and is one of the most compact glass water pieces in this collection.

If you want something compact but much more substantial, the 4.5-inch Matrix Disc Hammer Bubbler weighs approximately 212g and uses an 18mm female joint. Its wide disc-shaped body and internal matrix section make it physically very different from a tiny one-piece mini bubbler even though the height is still under five inches.

For shoppers who prefer a more vertical shape, an upright bubbler keeps more of the body above the base instead of stretching the chamber horizontally like a hammer. The 6.5-inch GRAV Rain Bubbler is a premium example with a compact clear body and 14mm female joint.

How Much Does a Glass Bubbler Cost?

You can buy a glass bubbler without starting at a premium price. At the time of this update, the 2.5-inch Martian Mini is $12.99, several 6-inch glass bubblers fall around the $20-to-$40 range, and branded GRAV pieces can approach $80 or more.

The important part is understanding why the price changes. Size is only one factor. Brand, weight, joint hardware, internal percolators, glasswork and overall body design can all change the cost. I would compare those features before assuming the most expensive piece is automatically the best bubbler for you.

Simple Bubbler or Bubbler With a Perc?

A simple bubbler has fewer internal sections to inspect and clean. A perc bubbler adds additional glass inside the chamber. For example, the 7-inch Phoenix Glass Bubbler uses both an 8-arm tree perc and a showerhead-style perc inside a compact clear body.

That makes it more complex than a basic mini bubbler, but complexity should be something you intentionally want. More internal glass also means more narrow areas that eventually need maintenance. If easy cleaning matters more than extra glasswork, I would stay with a simpler chamber.

14mm vs 18mm Bubbler Joints

Joint size matters when the bubbler uses removable glass. A 14mm connection is not automatically better or worse than an 18mm connection. It simply determines which compatible bowls or accessories fit.

The current SmokingCats collection includes both sizes. The GRAV Rain Bubbler uses a 14mm female joint, while the Matrix Disc Hammer and Phoenix double-perc bubbler use 18mm connections. If you already own replacement glass, check the joint before ordering rather than assuming every bubbler uses the same size.

If you need another bowl, browse our Glass Bowls and Slides. If two pieces use different connection sizes, check Glass Adapters and Converters before buying random parts and hoping they fit.

Small Bubbler or Full-Size Bong?

A bubbler makes more sense when you want a compact water piece that stays closer to the size of a hand pipe. A full-size bong gives the manufacturer more room for a larger chamber, base, downstem and additional attachments.

If you are mainly trying to save shelf space, stay with this collection. If the compact size is no longer important, compare our full Bong Collection before deciding. Sometimes a shopper starts looking for a large bubbler and eventually realizes that a small bong fits the same need better.

Where to Buy a Glass Bubbler Online

When deciding where to buy a glass bubbler online, look for actual measurements, joint size, current inventory and photos that clearly show the chamber. A product image can make a 2.5-inch piece look almost as large as a 7-inch bubbler when both are photographed by themselves.

SmokingCats has been selling smoking accessories since 2008 and offers free standard shipping to the lower 48 states with discreet packaging. The current bubbler collection includes budget mini pieces, hammer shapes, upright glass, percolator designs and premium GRAV models.

If you decide you do not need a water chamber at all, browse our Glass Hand Pipes. If you want something even smaller and simpler, compare Chillum Pipes. For maintenance supplies, see our Glass Cleaning Tools.

Glass Bubbler FAQ

What size bubbler should I buy?

Choose based on storage space and body design rather than one ideal number. SmokingCats currently has bubblers from about 2.5 inches to 7 inches. A 2.5-to-4.5-inch piece is extremely compact, while 6-to-7-inch models provide more room for larger chambers, joints or internal percolators.

How much does a glass bubbler cost?

Current SmokingCats bubblers start around $12.99 for a very small mini design. Mid-range glass commonly falls around $20 to $40, while premium branded bubblers can cost $60 to $80 or more. Prices depend on brand, size, weight, glasswork and internal features.

Should I buy a 14mm or 18mm bubbler?

Choose the joint size that works with the glass accessories you plan to use. A 14mm bubbler is not automatically better than an 18mm model. Check whether the joint is male or female as well as the diameter before ordering replacement bowls or attachments.

Is a mini bubbler better than a bong?

Neither is automatically better. A mini bubbler takes up less space and keeps the overall setup compact. A bong usually gives you a larger chamber and more room for removable parts and accessories. Choose based on the size and setup you actually want.
